Remember ED in Coh? Massive nerfs in the name of balance. BUT about five years later they gave us an end game and said hey this is why we had to do ED. ..... So we just gotta wait five years and we'll see the reason for these nerfs oO... :D

Thank you for the basement, I am terrible at builds, but if I come here I can sometimes figure out one of my own based off how a couple of builds here are done and they might not be the greatest but they aren't the complete fails they'd be if I was left alone to build something.

I never played CoX, so sadly that's no comfort. But I appreciate the attempt.

And that's why I do what I do.

Hey folks!

In honor of departures, and the spirit of keeping the game going...

Absolution has received a significant overhaul and update to the post-Munitons Butchering game world, and a lovely guest appearance in AC's sendoff to the man, the myth, the mullet, Thundrax.

And yes, I am working on a few things, including a few updates - so here are.. a few updates:

Mother Winter:Receiving a psot Ice-rework overhaul.

And what's in the works:

Zharptitsa: Mother Winter's darling daughter, a tough, powerful AoE Support.

Mother Maddie: The world's changed, but old Outlaws don't retire. They reload,

When I arrived here in CO (way back in October of 2011), common wisdom was that Force Cascade was the be-all, end-all of DPS powers. Frankly I never much cared for it, but from time to time I would tinker - for sake of completeness if nothing else. And now, in time for the Anniversary.. presenting the Beast's take on a Cascade build!

VICTRIX
Concepts: Malvan Gladiator, World-Ravager, Omega-Level Telekinetic
Role: Tough Close-Range Spike DPS [Avenger]

PowerHouse (Link to this build)

Name: Victrix

Archetype: Freeform

Super Stats:
Level 6: Intelligence (Primary)
Level 10: Dexterity (Secondary)
Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

Talents:
Level 1: The Glacier
Level 6: Coordinated
Level 9: Healthy Mind
Level 12: Acrobat
Level 15: Covert Ops Training
Level 18: Enduring
Level 21: Agile

Powers:
Level 1: Force Bolts (Energy Refraction)
Level 1: Stone Shot (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 6: Force Shield (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 8: Quarry (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Concentration
Level 14: Unbreakable (Rank 2)
Level 17: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
Level 20: Force Cascade (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 23: Telekinetic Maelstrom (Rank 2, Inner Peace)
Level 26: Ice Sheath (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Molecular Self-Assembly
Level 32: Mind Wipe
Level 35: Gravity Driver (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 38: Rebirth

Travel Powers:
Level 6: Power Flight (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Hyper Ball

Specializations:
Intelligence: Preparation (2/2)
Intelligence: Enlightened (1/3)
Intelligence: Tactician (2/2)
Intelligence: Revitalize (3/3)
Intelligence: Expertise (2/2)
Avenger: Ruthless (2/2)
Avenger: Can't Touch This (3/3)
Avenger: Offensive Expertise (2/2)
Avenger: Preemptive Strike (3/3)
Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
Vindicator: Offensive Expertise (2/2)
Vindicator: Mass Destruction (3/3)
Mastery: Avenger Mastery (1/1)

Power Rotation: Get to 50'engagement range and activate your Energy Builder, then use Stone Shot with Builder shots between until Energy Refraction triggers and you're at full Concentration stacks and three stacksof both Stagger and Round 'Em Up. Then let loose with the Cascade and repeat, rotating your Active Offenses and using Telekinetic Maelstrom for spot healing and to deal with getting mobbed by trash.

Gear is very important here: Gear and mod Int / Int/ ENDURANCE / Dex / Dex / Con, with a minimum Rank 5 Endurance mod; this outlier will let you hard-cast Cascade on a full energy bar in ideal circumstances. Prioritize Crit Chance and Severity in Offense, Defense in Defense, and Cost Reduction in Utility.

I was wondering about your Big Iron build. Why Str over Ego or Dex? Does Bullet Beatdown scale better with Str? Is there another aspect of it such as the spec that drove that choice? Just curious, not questioning your logic, I am trying to learn more about building in CO.

Big Iron is in fact a strength-based melee build, run in Brawler, not a hybrid. 😊

Holdout Shot is there to fill leveling pick gaps(and provide healing); Burst Shot is meant purely for utility - it debuffs resistance, and is an 'energy builder' of sorts, triggering the Stack gain from Enraged and the bonus energy from Unstoppable on a knock.

Bullet Beatdown is a Melee power and thus scales with Strength innately, but the other reasons are that the Strength tree opens up Juggernaut as a spec, and it is far easier to manage energy and stack Form with Enrage than any of the Focus-based Dexterity-fueled toggles.

It also feeds Wardicator, through Juggernaut, and any non-Tank melee character needs as much durability as can be had, these days.

Hi Manhunter.

I mostly play Champions for the RP, and don't really do all that well in PVE. I was wondering if you could give me some advice on creating a Hyrbid Radiant/Arcane Sorcery caster that would make a fairly effective build for those rare occasions when I do take part in PVE. I do need her to have just one toxic power -the Lash- somewhere in the mix.

But for the time being, I don't think my power selection has been at all efficient, and I'm considering going back to the drawing board to re-do her power selection from scratch.

Now is an interesting time for Sorcery, to say the least. Once they finalize the changes to the new powers, I'll cook something up for you. Are you looking more for support or DPS, a bit of both?

Thanks ManHunter I appreciate it.

I generally prefer to play a healer, but at the same time I tend to level on my own so I'd prefer a build that does a passable job of both.

Here's my build so far to give you an idea. I'm open to making any changes you suggest though:

Level 18

Energy Builder:
Eldritch Bolt 2

Ranged:
Celestial Conduit 3
Lash 1

Self Buff:
Compassion 2
Regeneration

Buff Targets:
Illumination 2

Block:
Block
Eldritch Shield

Flight

Innate:
Grimoire
Primary: Ego
Secondary: Presence
Secondary: Intelligence

Talents:
Field Ops
Brilliant
Enduring
Intimidating
Diplomatic

Well, here's a quick though. Now, mind you, this is subject to change with the coming Sorcery changes, and its more 'dark magic' perhaps -but since you're using Lash I somewhat suspect that might be thematic.

This will run in Hybrid.

PowerHouse (Link to this build)

Name: Arkanna

Archetype: Freeform

Super Stats:
Level 6: Ego (Primary)
Level 10: Presence (Secondary)
Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

Talents:
Level 1: Divinity
Level 6: Showmanship
Level 9: Ascetic
Level 12: Shrug It Off
Level 15: Intimidating
Level 18: Sniper Training
Level 21: Survival Training

Powers:
Level 1: Shadow Bolt
Level 1: Lash (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 6: Compassion
Level 8: Enchanter (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 11: Lifedrain (Rank 2, Vampiric Sympathy)
Level 14: Spirit Reverberation
Level 17: Crippling Coils (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Soul Vortex (Rank 2, Soul Drain)
Level 23: Ego Surge (Rank 2, Nimble Mind)
Level 26:
Level 29:
Level 32:
Level 35:
Level 38:

Travel Powers:
Level 6: Flight (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Teleportation

Specializations:
Ego: Force of Will (2/2)
Ego: Insight (3/3)
Ego: Follow Through (3/3)
Ego: Exploit Opening (2/2)
Sentry: Precise (3/3)
Sentry: Sentry Aura (3/3)
Sentry: Fortify (2/2)
Sentry: Reinforce (2/2)
Overseer: Overseer Aura (3/3)
Overseer: Impact (2/2)
Overseer: Honor (2/2)
Overseer: Trapped (3/3)
Mastery: Ego Mastery (1/1)

26, 29, 32, 25, and 38 will hold just about whatever you want -I'd put in a Block of choice, an Active Defense, and your pick of an AoE attack-being honest, Soul Vortex's damage is not really going to cut it for solo work and its there as a utility - you could have fun with combing Ebon Rift and Hex of Suffering there.

Here's my take on those last levels:

Level 26: Eldritch Shield (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Unbreakable
Level 32: Ebon Rift (Rank 2, Vengeful Shadows)
Level 35: Hex of Suffering (Rank 2)
Level 38: Circle of Radiant Glory

But that's entirely a matter of taste, and could go whatever way you need it to; the core of the build is to be Fearing and Lifedraining targets near allies to keep them topped up, while engaging in minor crowd control and debuffs. You'd want to stat heavily for Presence, bonus healing, and cost reduction to make this really sing.

Hi Manhunter! I was wondering if you'd be able to help me with a DPS build I'm working on. It's a bit of a weird one.

The hero's name is Whiffle Bat Girl, and like the name says, she carries around a weighted whiffle bat. Oh, and she has super strength. (She's as D-List as you can get.)

Here's the build I have so far for her. I wanted to balance Single Blade and Heavy Weapons, but I have no idea what I'm doing:

Level 15: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)
Level 18: Martial Training (Str: 3, Dex: 3, Ego: 3, Rec: 3)
Level 21: Mighty (Str: 8)

Powers
