Hey I used to play this game a lot many many years ago. If you remember me, I played Raiju, the hero and personification of my 15 Y/O Weeb era. Or you might remember Agent Winters, an UNTIL agent which... I got to figure out how to play without breaking Champs lore.

But no. I'm craving some good old fashioned superhero roleplay and I have a strange nostalgia for a long dead game (CO). Even though I'm going to be gone for the next week for vacation, I am willing and ready to come back!

I just... I just kind of need to get an idea of what I'm getting myself into. Is actual TIGHTS! superhero roleplay still the norm in CO?

Welcome back, Nyak! (I love it when an intro rhymes.) 😉 I can assure you, Champions Online is far from dead. Admittedly it's a long way from Warcraft in terms of player base, but it still sees daily activity and reportedly is in no danger of being shut down any time soon. And this is still an active role playing community, quite creative and welcoming.

I saw your question on the Champions Lore sub-forum, and since Champs lore is kinda my thing around here 😊, I'll post a response to it, and would be happy to answer any other questions you may have on the subject. In the meantime, though, you may benefit from a free, quality, downloadable PDF Champions Online Lore Primer, which you can download from here. It really just scratches the surface of what's available lore-wise -- the tabletop RPG that CO is based on has been around since 1981, and the current official setting is detailed in literally dozens of books -- but the primer will greatly help you get up to speed on who's who and what's what.

I hope to see you around. 👍

Welcome back, and yeah - if you got the lore questions, Liaden's our greatest source for answers (and puts up with far too many of my curiosities, heh.)
